Strategic Water Supply Bill passes first legislative committee 

SANTA FE —A bill that aims to establish a visionary Strategic Water Supply for New Mexico cleared its first legislative hurdle on Tuesday. The House Agriculture, Acequias and Water Resources Committee passed House Bill 137 on a 5-4 vote. This is an important step toward realizing Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s goal of ensuring that the state has enough water to support future economic growth without depleting or endangering its valuable freshwater supplies, part of her 50-Year Water Action Plan. SANTA FE – A multi-agency law enforcement team arrested a woman suspected of leading a major human trafficking operation in Albuquerque, marking a critical breakthrough in the fight against organized crime in New Mexico. Governor announces 26 additional Rural Health Care Delivery Fund recipients – $40.6 million awarded to rural health care organizations

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced today that 26 additional rural health care providers will receive a combined $40.6 million from the Rural Health Care Delivery Fund, part of the $46 million allocated during the 2024 legislative session. Last fall, $5.4 million was awarded to four rural health care organizations that demonstrated their ability to immediately implement services. Governor announces judicial appointment of Crystal Lees

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced on Thursday the appointment of Crystal Lees as a Second Judicial District Court judge. Lees’ appointment follows the retirement of Judge Debra Ramirez. Since 2018, Lees has served the state of New Mexico as a domestic relations hearing officer for the Second Judicial District Court, presiding over hearings in child custody, divorce, and child support matters. A graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, Lees was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2012.
